JAKARTA - Integrated maritime services company PT Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi Tbk (IDX: HITS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Padoma Global Neo Energi, an energy management company including a provider and infrastructure of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Papua.
The two companies agreed to carry out cooperation in the field of energy transportation and distribution services and services while jointly marketing and managing LNG originating from West Papua.
Tonny Aulia Achmad, President Director of HITS, stated "The signing of the MoU is to support the West Papua Government in providing LNG infrastructure for power plants in Jayapura through collaboration with BUMD in West Papua, PT Padoma," Tonny said, Thursday, July 27, 2023.
"In principle, we help and support each other to optimize business potential and resources to grow together," he added.
With this business collaboration, Tonny is optimistic that it will have a positive impact on the Company as a group. This collaboration further strengthen the Company's business segment and strengthen the Company as a major player in LNG transportation services with the best security system in the country.
"We proved that Humpuss Intermoda Group's more than 30 years of experience in distributing LNG convinced Padoma to make us a partner in liquefied natural gas cargo transportation services to several regions," said Tonny.
In terms of the impact of the cooperation, he admitted that it would encourage the Company's positive performance. Moreover, the amount of LNG transport capacity and marketing opportunities from liquefied natural gas production in the West Papua region reaches 800,000 Metric Tons/year (MTPA).

Realizing this collaboration, as the parent company, HITS through PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional (HUMI) supports its subsidiary specifically engaged in the LNG transportation service industry, PT GTS Internasional Tbk (IDX: GTSI).
Especially with GTSI's experience that has no more than three decades of distributing LNG to several power plants in Indonesia, such as in Jakarta, West Java, Bali, Arun, and Kalimantan. GTSI is now known to have distributed liquefied natural gas as an energy source that supports 66.67% of electricity needs in Indonesia.
