JAKARTA - A significant step was taken in the world of Indonesia's maritime industry, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PT Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi Tbk (IDX: HITS) and PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim (SPJM), Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

 

 

The two companies agreed to start collaboration in developing partnership programs in the field of port services, port support services, and other maritime services within PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero).

 

 

"HITS and PJM will jointly optimize the business potential and resources owned by both companies to optimize the maritime sector for sustainable progress," HITS President Director Tonny Aulia Achmad said in a statement to the media.

 

 

Tonny claims that because of the significance of this strategic business plan and the need to protect the interests of shareholders and stakeholders, the company would update the public on its progress on a frequent basis.

 

 

In order to continue their collaboration with SPJM, he continued, the two companies will form a Joint Team that will examine their cooperation plan in detail. Both will also look at other opportunities for cooperation in line with their individual areas of competence, Tonny added.

 

 

Tonny added, "HITS, as the holding of PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk., (IDX: HUMI), will hand it over to its subsidiaries in accordance with their respective business segments when it comes time for its operational implementation later." Excellent for crew training and certification, dredging, offshore support boats, marine fleet support, including tugs and guides.

 

 

Prior to this, PT Padoma Global Neo Energi, an energy management firm that includes liquefied natural gas (LNG) suppliers and infrastructure in Papua, and HITS had already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

 

 

Both companies decided to work together on projects related to energy transportation and distribution, as well as marketing and managing LNG originating in West Papua.

 

 

Study Priority Scale

 

The Joint Team will concentrate on assessing ship services, equipment, and port dredging within PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), according to SPJM President Director Prasetyadi.

 

 

According to Prasetyadi, "This study will be carried out based on the priority scale and benefits that will be obtained by both parties."

 

 

He continued by saying that the company anticipates robust cooperation between the two parties in the spirit of mutual aid and support and with reference to the relevant laws and regulations.

 

 

"This collaboration is intended to achieve mutual benefits and support the principles of good corporate governance by prioritizing the principle of mutual benefit and compliance with applicable legal provisions in Indonesia," said Prasetyadi.
