Jakarta, - Energy infrastructure and distribution company, PT Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi Tbk. ("Stock code: HITS" or the "Company") added one unit of chemical vessels, which will also serve as an oil tanker to enhance its operational scale. Currently, there is a significant demand for liquid chemical business in market.

 

"The addition of oneunit of this vessel will be used to transport various types of chemicals and petrochemical products,"said Tonny Aulia Achmad, President Director of HITS. With sufficient enough capacity, this vessel will enable us to provide improved logistics services to our customers, he added.

 

The addition of these chemical vessels as part of CAPEX 2023 (Capital Expenditure) will help increase the petrochemical transport capacity of HITS Group. With this addition, the total petrochemical transport vessels owned by HITS Group will reach six.

 

Currently, there is a high domestic demand for methanol, as a significant portion of its production is exported. Methanol also has an important role in new renewable energy and energy conversion (EBTKE), especiall yafter the government changed the allocation of 30% Biodiesel (B30) to 35% Biodiesel (B35) effectiveon January 1,2023.

 

By adding two methanol vessels by the first semester of 2023, it will penetrate new markets, such as transportation of caustic soda,  fame, and sulfuric acid. HITS Group hopes to meet the increasing demand within the petrochemical sector. The addition of these vessels will support the Company's business growth and market expansion in the petrochemical transportation sector, said Tonny.
